PAWPAW ROD THIN LINES

PawPaw Rod is an art-soul artist from the Great Plains tornado belt of Oklahoma, who only began releasing music last year. His effortlessly cool sound is characterised by 70s funk and 60s soul paired with avant-garde production, rap and singing. Following singles 'HIT EM WHERE IT HURTS' and 'Glass House', PawPaw Rod drops 'Thin Lines' alongside a video. Harpsichord stabs begin the song, laid beside PawPaw's smooth and soulful vocal delivery. There's an undeniable funk-dance element owed to the sweet combination of drums and bass; reminiscent of the sound of California producer Channel Tres. The accompanying video gives us an insight into PawPaw's rural neighbourhood. Watch and listen to 'Thin Lines' here! -Ellie Rose-Davies
